12 Reasons… We Love Online Shopping

Here are some of our favourite things about online retail therapy

Her

It’s no secret that the ladies here at Her.ie are a little bit obsessed when it comes to online shopping. In the words of Carrie Bradshaw, ‘we like to keep our money where we can see it – hanging in our wardrobes.’ From browsing the latest collections to tracking our orders online, we’re bonafide crazy about making digital purchases. While we get back to viewing our virtual baskets, take a look at a few of our favourite things about online retail therapy.

The bargains

To make the most of your hard-earned cash it’s important to bag the best bargains out there. From Black Friday to Cyber Monday, the web undoubtedly offers the best shopping bargains out there. So instead of traipsing from shop to shop in fear of missing out on a deal, just sit back, relax and browse through as many sites as you like to find the best price for you.

The comfort

You can make an online purchase anytime, anywhere. Wearing or eating whatever you like. End of.

The solitude

While we are partial to getting helpful advice from sales assistants every once in a while, there are always going to be those times after long days in the office where we’re just not in the mood to make small talk. Turning on a laptop requires zero communication and sometimes that’s exactly what we’re looking for from our shopping experience.

The delivery

Is there anything like the thrill of seeing the postman arrive with a box full of beautifully-wrapped packages just waiting to be worn? No, we didn’t think so.

The reviews

If you like to know everything and anything about the products you’re about to splash your cash on, make sure to check out your fellow buyer’s opinions before you hit the checkout. Online reviews are an invaluable resource of information and you’re sure to get the honesty you don’t always hear from sales assistants working on commission.

The multi-tasking

Too busy catching up on New Girl, laundry and the gym to hit the high street at the weekend? Online shopping is definitely the way to go. You can pick up that lipstick you’ve been lusting after while you’re waiting to put your whites in the dryer, and that birthday present for your boyfriend’s sister before you start the next episode of The Good Wife.

The time saved

Queues for car parks, changing rooms and checkouts all take time that sometimes you just don’t have to spare. You can shave hours off your shopping time by making your purchases online. Plus, online stores never close so you can buy at any hour of the day or night that works for you.

The variety

Pretty much everything the world has to offer is available at your fingertips. Everything. Need we say any more?

The availability

Ever been lured into a shop by the most perfect dress you’ve ever seen hanging in the window only to be told it’s not available in your size? While this can also happen online, at least you’ll be curled up on your couch and free to search for the same dress or an even better alternative on another website.

The time to decide

Indecisive much? If you’re like us and you’re almost definitely sure you might want to buy those leather gloves, all you have to do is save them in your online basket, move away from the laptop and have a little think for yourself. Take your time and only log back on once you’ve made your choice. #Noregrets

The electronic records

Buying online means that you don’t need to worry about losing a receipt in the deepest darkest depths of your handbag. Log into your email account, do a quick search and the details of all of your purchases will be waiting for you. Simples.

The money-saving

Between the parking, petrol and take-away coffees, a day at the shops is full of hidden costs. Shopping online means you don’t need to leave the house and you can enjoy as many cups of tea as you like without the guilt.
