2014’s First Her Hero Of The Week Is…

Starting the year with one of our biggest heroes yet.

Her

Ever wondered where all the good men are gone? Or where are all the gods? So have we.

It’s that time of the week again, ladies…

We’re only too delighted to award 2014’s first #HerHeroOfTheWeek to one charming Michael Jackson fan. (This may bring a slight tear to your eye).

If you happened to be in Dublin on Friday night and paid a visit to one of our favourite haunts, Dicey Reilly’s, then you may have witnessed one elderly gent breaking out moves that MJ himself would be proud of.

Wearing Jackson’s signature white socks and gloves, a hat and t-shirt dedicated to the singer, this hero showed the crowd what he was made of, dancing to Jackson’s massive hit, ‘The Way You Make Me Feel.’

The moves were captured on camera by Her.ie reader Cassie Delaney.

After the performance, Cassie made some enquiries at the bar as to who the man was, not expecting to hear the following…

A barman in Dicey’s informed Cassie that this man frequents the Harcourt St. establishment quite often.

“According to the barman he’s 73, has cancer and just wants to live out his last days as a hero,” Cassie writes.

Well, we think you’ll agree, he is doing just that.

Our hats are off to him, what a legend.

Do you know a HERO?

Ladies, every week we will select one complete gentleman to be Her Hero, not without your help of course…

How can you help? Send an image of someone you think is an absolute hero, and if we agree, your entry will get a very deserving and coveted place.

He doesn’t have to be fast, he doesn’t necessarily have to be brave, or have ever been involved in a fight in his life… but it may help.

The picture can be anything, a nice gesture from your boyfriend (providing you have one), a text from your Dad or friend, or even someone lovely you happen to meet on the street. Surprise us!

Send your potential Her Heroes to [email protected] or use the #HerHeroOfTheWeek on Twitter.

Until next week ladies…
