It's great for the CV and will help you in choosing a career path.

Helping those less fortunate will make you feel better about yourself and is very worthwhile.

This just makes sense.

Again, this looks great on your CV and is a fun hobby.
13. Do something related to your course
Studying journalism? Why not pitch some ideas for the college paper or join the campus radio station? Who knows what connections and contacts you could make.
14. Make friends
Sure college might be about getting that degree but it’s also about having the craic – put yourself out there and chat to new people!
15. Stick to deadlines
There’s nothing worse than having work pile up on you. Keep a diary or set up alerts on your phone to keep you on schedule and college work will be a breeze.
16. Join a study group
Stuck for ideas? Sometimes it’s best to hit ideas off other people for inspiration. Study group to the rescue! Not only will you be able to ask questions and help each other out, but you’ll all be able to appreciate when silence is golden. Sorted.
17. Join a gym
Working out at the gym is the perfect distraction and de-stresser for a hard day’s work and normally there are plenty of discounts for students – gym bunny ahoy!
18. Read newspaper
The college newspaper’s great for keeping up-to-date with what’s going on campus and what’s new in student life. They’re free too!
19. Get involved with the students’ union
Interested in politics? Want to change the way college is run? Check out the students’ union for advice on how you can get involved.
20. Socialise with mature students
Because mature students have been there and done that, they’re the perfect people to ask for college advice. They know the ins and outs, plus, they’re expert note-takers.
21. Ask questions
Lecturers and tutors are there to help you! Make the most of your college experience by asking questions. Don’t be afraid to ask for advice.
22. Speak your mind
Got an opinion? Share it! What have you got lose?
23. Change your mind
If you’re not comfortable with the course you’re doing, don’t be afraid to explore new routes and change courses.
24. Take a tour of the campus
Seriously, you’d be surprised at how many hidden secrets there are on campus. Who knew that there were so many computer rooms…
