5 things to do today to make yourself feel better about the bank holiday being over

Olivia Hayes

It’s over.

Those sweet, sweet three days that we’ve all been looking forward to are over.

If you were working the bank holiday weekend then we feel for you, we were too and it was heartbreaking (especially since the weather was just so good), but whatever, we’re over it.

However, if you were off all weekend then you probably weren’t in the best of moods going into the office today.

The commute (the f*cking commute). The rain. It was awful and now it feels like the bank holiday (where we just drank, went on walks, and drank again) was two years ago and not 15 hours ago.

So, if you want to cheer yourself up today, here are 5 things to do that just might put you in a better mood.

Plan something to do this weekend

Yes, you might not want to look at another can of Orchid Thieves, but having nothing to look forward to can be a bit grim. Whether it’s going on a hike with your BFF, booking yourself in for a facial or planning a girls night in, having something to look forward to will definitely put you in a better mood.

Treat yourself to lunch with your work wife

The day is going to be long. That’s a fact. Going back to work after the weekend is never nice, but going back to work after a three day weekend is kick-in-the-teeth awful. Break up the day by asking your work wife for lunch in the cute café you love down the road.

We’re sure loads happened to both of you over the weekend, so sit back, sip on your latte, and hopefully by the time you head back to the office the rest of the day will fly by.

Get your fave takeaway

Go home, change into something comfy and decide what food you’re in the mood for. Nothing beats your doorbell ringing and your favourite food being right there on your doorstep. Beautiful. Bliss. Life could not get better.

*Yes, a lot of our happiness is based on food*

Go for a walk

We know it’s tempting to just stay in for the rest of the day, but nothing beats going for a stroll when the weather is like this.

Plus, being out and about is guaranteed to put you in a better mood.

Watch something ~*feel-good*~

Grab your PJs, get into bed and throw on something fun and feel good. Whether you want a comedy or dramatic love story, nothing beats watching something that will make you smile.

Chatting to the Her gals, a rom-com is the way to go tonight.
