6 things that inevitably happen when you get a new car

First of all, you will be grinning ear to ear like this woman.

Congrats, you’ve got a brand new set of wheels.

Getting a new car is very exciting. You’ve probably saved up for ages and spent a while picking out the perfect model and colour. Now comes the fun part…

There are a few things you’re going to experience once you get a new motor.

Some of these sound familiar…

Let the photo shoot commence

You don’t want to turn into one of those people that have a car as their Facebook profiler but you’re starting to understand them a lot more. Go on, admit it, you’ve staged a little photo shoot of your new motor and put a few pics on Insta. It’s okay we have all been there.

You will have a christening

Okay, you’re not actually going to go to mass and name the thing but you will definitely christen it within the first few weeks. Of course, it will be something adorable like Dot or Betty, you’ll probably give it a gender too.

You turn into a proud parent

This car is your new baby and you will be treating it that way. You fully expect people to comment on your new arrival whenever they see it and will get slightly miffed if they don’t ooh and ahh the same way you do. It is your pride and joy after all.

You’ll become a taxi

Once you get your new set of wheels you can’t wait to take it for a spin and show it off. The one downside is that everyone else wants to go for a little test drive too. Every sibling, work pal, cousin and acquaintance are going to want a lift somewhere so they can see your wheels. The effort!

You’ll feel like Inspector Gadget

Your new car will have so many new exciting features and gadgets it will feel like something from the future. How did you ever manage without parking sensors and a Sat Nav before?

Someone will undoubtedly give you holy water

Most likely a granny or a great aunt. You’ll nonchalantly throw it in a drawer because you don’t want to fill your new car with clutter. About half an hour later you’ll feel guilty and pop it safely in your glove box. Sure you never know where you might need it.
