Give it up for dads!

Bless ‘em. What would we do without them? Our dads have always been there for us. From picking us up when we fall to standing up for us when some kid was being mean in school. We know that they have our back. For that, we will always truly be grateful. Unfortunately for them, kids are fickle and this loyalty goes straight out the window when it comes to the family summer holiday. You see, dads just have this unique ability to induce awkward situations abroad, it's like part of their dad DNA or something. Here’s a list of 7 ways dads embarrass their children of a summer holiday. 1. In for the win The number one way a father can embarrass not only himself but bring shame on his whole family is by clapping when the plane lands. Dad's summer clobber Is there some secret dad contract they all sign, saying that they have to wear Hawaiin shirts and a horrendous socks and sandals combo? 3. The lingo Trying to speak the native language when ordering food...but asking for directions to the library instead. Donde esta la mortification por favor?? via GIPHY 4. Dad dancing Bless him. He never gets out of the house normally and all of a sudden the DJ's spinning the sound of the 70s. Be warned, once you see it, you can never un-see. via GIPHY 5. Being overly competitive Using a hotel organised activity as a way to re-live his past life as a bronze medal archer and getting way too emotional about it. via GIPHY 6. Not asking for directions Now he does this all the time at home. But when he blatantly refuses to take the advice of the hotel receptionist and decides he knows a 'short cut' in the middle of the outback. It feels like a matter of life or death. via GIPHY 7. Flirting with the waitress When he makes googley eyes with the waitress who is clearly just looking for a good tip and you just don't know where to look. via GIPHY In fairness, now that we think about it, Dads are pretty entertaining so whatever you call him, don't call him an embarrassment- to his face- bless him, he's doing his best!
