There are lots of things happening this St Patrick's Day around Dublin City.
There is, of course, the main parade which will take its usual route from Parnell Square, along O'Connell St before finishing at St Patrick's Cathedral, on Patrick St, but there also loads of fun things to take part in on the day.

2. In the Footsteps of St. Patrick-Walking Tour

The annual St Patrick’s Walk is back again and will be led by the renowned Dublin historian and author Pat Liddy. You will get a chance to see the places that most tourists and many locals miss. It starts from the corner of Suffolk St and Andrew St (beside the Molly Malone statue) and finishes with a visit to St Patrick’s Cathedral. There are two times for the tours - 11.00am and 2.15pm.

3. Irish Craft Beer & Whiskey Village

Over in the RDS, for a fifth year running, the Irish Craft Beer & Whiskey Village will take place from 12-11pm in the main hall. It costs just €10 and will let you sample lots of beers, cider and whiskey.
4. Gaelstage

2FM's Eoghan McDermott will host a special event celebrating the Irish language with a traditional music stage.
It kicks off at 3:30pm and will feature music from Imlé, Enda Reilly and Seo Linn.
5. The Moth StorySLAM

A unique event hosted by comedian Colm O'Regan, The Moth StorySLAM, takes place in the Teelings Distillery, Dublin 8, from 6pm. The Moth StorySLAM is an open-mic storytelling competition, which was originally founded in New York City.

The idea is that 10 audience members are randomly selected to take to the stage for 10 minutes to share a story. After each story, audience judges will confer and score. The highest score becomes the StorySLAM winner and continues on to the Dublin GrandSLAM Championship. This month’s theme is “Only in Dublin”.
6. Generator Live

If you're looking for a good free gig, you can head along to The Generator in Smithfield where Pleasure Beach are headlining.
Also playing will be Cry Monster Cry, Corner Boy and Rachel Lavelle. Door open at 7pm.
7. The Hot Sprockets Live At Whelans

Over in Whelans then, The Hot Sprockets will play not one but two gigs, one at 4pm and another at 8pm. Tickets cost €10 and are on sale now.
