I have a confession to make. I'm twenty-seven years old and … I'm single! Now, I'll let that sink in for a few moments before I make my next confession … I'm not looking for a relationship.
Yeah, I've had a few 'special others' in the past, but at the moment I'm enjoying being (relatively) young, free and especially single!
The only time my singleton status gets to me is on Monday nights, as they're the most boring night of the week. The thrill of the weekend is done, and most of my friends don't want to go out as they're recovering from the return to work. Here are my three favourite ways of filling those lonesome Monday nights.
Play Guitar
I've always wanted to play a musical instrument, but never had the money to take lessons, as they don't come cheap! Instead, I splashed out on a second hand electric guitar and a copy of
Rocksmith for my PS3.
I loved playing Guitar Hero (I once scored 100% on “My Name Is Jonas”) – Rocksmith is the next step up as it uses the same principle but you use a
real guitar instead of a plastic controller.
It even teaches you from the basics, and I'm going great. I'll soon be mashing out some heavy tunes with the best of them.
Play Online Bingo
People seem to pity me when I tell them I play online bingo, but I pity those that don't. A sesh of online bingo is exciting and great fun! Lots of games have chat windows meaning I can talk to my fellow players whilst waiting for the balls to drop.
You can play bingo for pennies (not that I have a lot of free cash to play with anyhow) and some games are even free. I haven't won much yet but for me it's more the taking part than the winning that counts. You can
play bingo games with Paddy Power, Ireland's top bookies. Being part Irish, it's my favourite place to play!
Blog!
I love to write. I don't care whether people read my stuff or not – I know I'm never going to be the next J. K. Rowling or even E. L. James. Monday night is my blogging night. I just open up my blogger account, and ramble on with whatever comes into my head, then post away. Sometimes I get comments, and sometime I don't, but I don't really mind. My blog's for me, and if anyone does take the time to read it, then great!
The more I write, the better writer I become, and the easier it comes to getting those thoughts out of my head via my fingertips. Who knows where my writing may take me? They say “write what you know” and of course the thing I know most about is me!
