A Woman on Reddit Has Opened Up About Having Two Vaginas in a Candid Thread

Cassie Delaney

In medical terms, being born with two vaginas is known as Uterus Didelphys, and means there is a double uterus with two separate cervices, and often a double vagina as well.

A Reddit user with the condition has opened up about life with two vaginas in an honest ‘Ask Me Anything’ thread. Spotted by The Sun, user NurseryRN talks candidly about her sex life and fertility.

Keeping her name anonymous, the user begins:

“I am in my 20s. I found out I had two uteri, 2 cervices, and 2 vaginas when I was 16 years old. I’ve been told I can get pregnant in either uterus.”

Fellow users ask a range of questions.

When asked about the possibility of pregnancy, NurseryRn responds:

“My uteri are smaller than normal so I am at risk for miscarriage, intrauterine growth restriction (small babies), and premature babies.”

When asked does it matter which vagina she uses for sex, she writes:

“We aim for the right vagina.”

She explains that the condition was only discovered in her early teens.

“When I was 13 years old I had to have surgery on my intestines. When I got out of surgery, my parents were told to take me to an ob/gyn when I was 16 because “something is wrong with the reproductive system.” My ob/gyn did a vaginal exam and told me I had a double vagina and two cervices and we decided to do an exploratory laparoscopy” she writes.

She continues to say that the presence of two vaginas does not really affect her sex life.

“My sex life is good. It depends which vagina is penetrated. My vaginas are side by side and the left side hurts when penetrated because it is smaller. To my knowledge, due to the septum in my vagina, my g-spot is covered. Other than that, I imagine that it’s not much different than anyone else’s” she writes.

NurseryRN is not the only Reddit user to open up about the condition.

Another user Hazelx2 also completed an AMA thread about life with Uterus Didelphys.

Speaking about the appearance of her two vaginas she wrote:

“They sit next to each other, my best friend told me it reminded her of the ying yang symbol.”

Last year, YouTuber Cassandra Bankson wrote a piece for MimiChatter on life with the condition.

In an honest personal essay she wrote:

“It started with a visit to my doctor for lower back pain which prompted some urgent scans and tests of my kidneys—as it turned out, the lower back pain was just muscle cramps, but the scans also revealed that I was missing a kidney, and “gifted” with a dual set of reproductive organs.”
