Singer Abi Alton has defended her performance on last weekend’s X Factor after she was voted off the show.
The singer hit back at Sharon Osbourne’s comments after her cover of Ed Sheeran’s Lego save her spot on the TV show.
"I was a bit disappointed [with Sharon's comments]” she exclusively told BANG Showbiz.
“I can see where she's coming from saying people always perform better in the sing-off but obviously they do because your emotions are running so high and you are so vulnerable at that point that all you can do is lay your heart out on a plate.
"With Saturday nights performances you just want to go out there and enjoy yourself, it's a different sort of thing. You can't go out there and sing every week like it was your save me song. You would just crack!"
"I think it was difficult for someone like me to fit in with those themes and I guess I was more restricted in some ways but I tried my best" she added.
Sharon described Abi as "frustrating". "Why now? Now you deliver - what are we going to do with you Abi?"
