If waking up with a cappuccino every morning, cooking Italian food and discovering a rural Italian city every day seems like your dream; well, then we have great news for you.

Airbnb is looking for four people to send over to the Italian village of Grottole to “experience authentic rural life in Italy.”

While there, you will have Italian lessons while sipping on your Americano in the morning followed by growing local produce in the gardens with a man called Andrea.

Your day will then consist of learning how to cook real authentic Italian food with a lovely woman called Rosa which is then followed by exploring the Italian countryside in a ape car.

Yes, it sounds like absolute bliss – but it’s needed for the town of Grottole as there’s only 300 inhabitants left and there are fears it might vanish in the near future if more people start to move out to live in big cities.

While you are there you will also volunteer at the “local non-profit organisation called ‘Wonder Grottole’ whose aim is to revitalize the town’s historical centre.”

Airbnb describe the sabbatical as:

“Escape the hustle and bustle of the city and become a temporary citizen of a village in the south of Italy.

“Immerse yourself in the local culture and discover how to speak, act and cook the Italian way. You will also get to support the local community by hosting an Airbnb Experience. Your goal? To help the local community revitalize the small village of Grottole.”

You have until February 17 at 11.59am to apply, and you can do so here.
