Almost everyone who goes on holiday logs onto a social networking when they are away according to a new survey.
Hotels.com found out that 99% of people will have a sneaky peek at a social networking site during their holidays with three quarters admitting to going on for a few minutes every day.
Facebook is the most popular with over 90% checking in. But it’s not the only one as 80% of people said that they Tweeted on holiday. Others said they uploaded holiday snaps and updated their status.
The main reason behind logging on was to keep up with what was happening back home although 10% said it was because they were bored.
Thankfully the majority of travel companions don’t seem to mind if their travel buddies check up with what’s going on online, but the same amount of people said they feel they can’t turn off when they are on holidays. Well it’s no surprise if you keep checking back with what’s going on at home!
All we can say it we certainly won’t be booking our holiday based on whether the hotel has free wi-fi or not because we’ll be too busy enjoying the sun.
