Following mountains of votes and nominations, there could only be one winner of Goodall’s Best Scone 2014.

The Cupcake Bloke was crowned this year's winner, scooping a grand prize of €1000 and the title as judged by Ireland's top foodies.
This year the public's votes accounted for 50% of the judging with the rest of the score being awarded by a panel of judges that included Paul Kelly, Executive Pastry Chef at The Merrion Hotel; columnist Sophie White, food blogger Sheila Kiely, Fiona Dillon, author of "Food from an Irish Garden" and Roisin O’Shea from Goodall’s.

The Cupcake Bloke sells his beautiful baked goods from Coppinger Row Market on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Daily, Graham creates his scones, cupcakes and cakes from his bakery unit in Smithfield.
The Cupcake Bloke has a growing reputation amongst Dublin foodies for his sweet and savoury scones, and use of innovative and unique flavours.
The winning scone from was a black pudding and apple savoury scone that was made from Irish produce, including black pudding from Graham’s cousin’s butchers, Herterich’s Butchers in Longford.
Alongside his partner, Daithí Kelleher, Graham has grown the business over the last 18 months, and now, in addition to its market stall in Coppinger Row, he offers bespoke baking for events and weddings.
On winning the top accolade Graham, comments:
“While I respect and bake traditional scone recipes, I like to push boundaries and try innovative combinations. Each market day, I bake a selection of sweet scones but my customers have really responded to flavours such as ‘black pudding and apple’, ‘smoked salmon and chive’ and ‘ham, pea and mint'
“We’ve high hopes that winning Ireland’s Best Scone will really put The Cupcake Blokeon the map and that we’ll attract new customers from far and wide".
