Any excuse! Three dreamy Irish hotel breaks that would be just gorgeous for Valentine’s Day

Valentine's Day

Valentines’s Day.

Maybe you’re a fan, maybe you think it’s a load of rubbish.

Both opinions are perfectly valid and even if you’re not into the idea of the day itself and think it’s a bit of a gimmick, it’s still a great excuse to spend some quality time with your significant other or your pals.

As we all know, Ireland is home to some stunning hotels and many of these locations have put together luxury packages to help you celebrate February 14.

So if you’re completely over January and need something to look forward to, a little break for Valentine’s Day might be right up your street.

The only problem is picking which destination because to give credit where credit is due, Ireland is a gorgeous country with magnificent views, phenomenal food and fabulous people.

The hospitality industry continues to thrive and we already know our readers adore staycations. With that in mind, here are three fab options.

Cliff at Lyons, Kildare

I mean for starters, just look at the bathroom. Dream interiors, I’m always a sucker for the little details and am totally swooning over this decor situation.

There’s an award-winning spa and the unusual group of buildings, covered with roses and luscious greenery, offer something a little different to a traditional hotel.

Valentine's Day

Cliff at Lyons is currently running a love-bug themed deal from the 10 -17 February from €349 for an Estate Room, including handmade chocolates and prosecco in the room on arrival, a pre-dinner ‘Love is in the Air’ cocktail and dinner in The Orangery.

Oh and if you’re a dog mam and you can’t stand the thoughts of leaving them even for one night, there’s a Puppy Love package from €280 per night for two humans plus one dog, including breakfast.

Farnham Estate and Golf Resort, Cavan

Farnham has a lot of fans and these devotees rave about the infinity pool which you’ll get unlimited use of if you choose this particular love-themed package.

There’s an impressive drive up to this particular hotel and the grounds are stunning so make sure to factor in some time for a relaxing walk if you do make a decision to treat yourself to a break here.

Valentine's Day

Chocolate-dipped strawberries and prosecco on arrival, dinner in Maxwell’s Grill Room, a rose petal turndown service, unlimited use of the Health Spa’s infinity pool, Water Mint Thermal Suite, Gymnasium, and Relaxation rooms and that’s all for €134.50 per person sharing on Thursday 14 February.

Delphi Resort, Galway

If relaxing isn’t your thing and you’d rather get out and about, Delphi might be the spot for you.

There are lots of activity options to take in the stunning views of the Mweelrea and Twelve Bens mountain but don’t worry because there’s plenty of ways to chill out later on.

The highlight would have to be dinner by candlelight in the 814 restaurant and of course, a nightcap by the cosy fire would be the perfect way to finish your night.

Valentine's Day

To coincide with Valentines, you can book a two-night break for from €245 per person with the offer including a couples Thalgo bath, back, neck and shoulder massage, Thermal Suite experience, a three-course dinner, and breakfast. Where possible, you’ll be able to avail of a complimentary room upgrade too, NICE.
