A truly worthy cause.

Today is World Mental Health Day, and to mark the day, Avoca has partnered with the Walk in My Shoes (WIMS) campaign, the flagship awareness-raising campaign of St Patrick’s Mental Health Services. The charity aims to promote positive mental health, tackle mental health stigma and work to change how people think about mental health. To mark the day, you are encouraged to pull out your favourite pair of walking shoes and take a stroll through the gardens at Avoca Mount Usher – where the entrance is free all day. WIMS brand ambassador and ultramarathon runner, Conor O’Keeffe is also encouraging everyone, no matter where they are in the country to slip on their favourite walking shoes and get out into the fresh air and walk for their wellbeing. As well as the Mount Usher initiative, Avoca has also announced they are launching four charity Christmas products, with all proceeds being donated directly to the WIMS charity. These include two beautifully in-house crafted candles, a bespoke print in collaboration with Irish luxury lifestyle brand, Dusty Boy Designs and a stunning selection of charity Christmas cards. “We are thrilled and honoured to be given the opportunity to partner with the Walk in My Shoes campaign initiative again this year," says Maoliosa Connell, Director of Marketing, Creative and Buying at Avoca. "We truly believe that it is so important to support and promote positive mental health and wellbeing, especially after the most challenging 18 months in a pandemic.
