Just when we thought spring was on its way...
This morning Cork residents are trying to cope with the aftermath of flash flooding that occured in the county late last night.
Gale force winds and blizzard like conditions swept through the county, resulting in several inches of surging water, which flooded through homes and businesses late into the night.
The worst hit area was Blackpool, Co. Cork, where drains failed to cope with the deluge of water.
In Leinster, Dublin and Wicklow have been badly hit along the coast, with sections of the M50 being closed off past J16 at Cherrywood.
Further north, snow and sleet are expected along with freezing temperatures.
Definitely a weekend to stay in!
