Egg white omelette
The fat in egg yolks mean they are harder for your body to digest which could make you feel bloated and sluggish. Egg whites, on the other hand, have a whopping 4 grams of protein and very little fat. Throw in a few veggies and you're on to a winner.
Fruit smoothie
Smoothies are a great source of simple and complex carbohydrates that will help fuel your workout and your morning. They're also a handy way to get started on your five a day. Use some Greek yoghurt instead of regular yoghurt as it contains more protein and less sugar.
Whole grain toast
This is so handy if you are in a rush to get out the door. A simple slice of wholegrain toast with jam will help you tackle your morning workout without filling you up too much.
Wholegrain bread is packed with fibre which will release energy slowly throughout the morning, while a bit of jam will give you the energy boost you need to get out the door.
If you can't face the thought of eating before your morning workout, most of these handy breakfasts also double up as great post workout snacks too.
Make sure you leave some time before eating and working out. The last thing you want is an upset stomach when you want to hit the weights.
