There are a lot of body bits we don’t like to get bigger, but how about this?
Our boobs are growing bigger.
A survey by Debenhams have found the country’s average cup size is steadily growing.
And, despite the recession, busty Irish women are still prepared to splurge on dressing their assets.
The research also found that 78 per cent of women have admitted they have squeezed themselves into a bra that is too small for them at some point. Guilty, we just couldn’t face with dumping the lovely black-lace brassiere we bought years ago.
However, the best-selling size has gone from 34B in 2010 to a bustier 34DD this year.
The store’s top lingerie buyer Sharon Webb said, “Sales suggest that breasts are bigger and better than ever before.
“Confidence is changing the shape of the nation. Fit is of the paramount importance, a great-fitting bra makes you look incredible on the outside and feel fabulous on the inside.”
But even though our average chest size seem to be on the rise, Irish women have admitted to still wanting their chest to look bigger.
Some 70 per cent of all bras sold in Debenhams are either padded or push-up.
More importantly, 50 cent from every bra sold by the shop in October will be donated to breast cancer charities.
