B&Q Warns Staff To Be Ready For Increase In Sales Due To Release Of ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’

Popular home improvement and DIY store B&Q have reportedly requested that their staff prepare for an increase in sales of certain items around the release of Fifty Shades of Grey.

According to reports, a leaked memo to staff has stated to “expect potentially sensitive questions” and “increased customer product queries relating to rope, cable ties and masking or duct tape”.

It has also been reported that a copy of the book will be delivered to stores so that staff can “familiarise themselves” with the plot line.

The memo reportedly also points out the specific scene where Mr Grey goes to a “hardware store to purchase rope, cable ties and tape”.

“As the UK’s leading DIY store, we stock many of the products featured in this notable scene and then used later in the film,” the memo reportedly reads.

According to ITV News a spokesperson for the company stated: “B&Q remains committed to serving our customers in all their DIY needs and we strive to prepare our staff for any enquiry.”

The note was reportedly sent to over 20,000 staff.
