This Is Beer returns this May with a multi-sensory beer tasting experience, celebrating beer’s four natural ingredients – hops, barley, water and yeast. The latest This Is Beer is event is designed to set beer fans’ taste buds tingling as World renowned beer expert Marc Stroobandt will introduce guests to a world of flavour at the event in the Dublin city centre venue, 37 Dawson Street on May 28th.
With taste challenges including the Supertaster test, that identifies the handful of the population who have a genetically heightened sense of taste, and a hands-on approach to beer’s four natural ingredients, This Is Beer brings an all new interactive experience at this month’s beer tasting in Dublin’s city centre. Beer lovers will be guided by This Is Beer’s experts Marc Stroobandt and Fiona Smith, who will bring to life beer’s completely natural brewing process and flavour-match a range of beers with different foods, as well as identifying the various taste segments that are born from just four simple ingredients.

With high demand once again expected, beer fans have two different sitting times to choose from on May 28th — 6pm and 8pm.
This Is Beer’s multi-sensory experiences are not only designed to celebrate beer’s four natural ingredients; hops, barley, water and yeast, but also continues to challenge misconceptions around one of the nation’s favourite beverages — and the latest results speak volumes. Recent studies show that since 2011, the knowledge and understanding that beer is made of only natural ingredients has jumped from 12% to 19% in people aged 25-44 years.
