They're practically free.

Did somebody say ice-cream?

The weekend’s forecast involves the predictable mix of “sunshine and showers” but we’re going to focus on the fact there will be (some) sun and (practically) free ice-cream.

To celebrate the launch of Apple Pay at AIB, a number of ice cream trucks, offering delicious ice-cream cones, will be travelling through the country with €0.01 ice-creams on offer.

The trucks are coming to Cork, Galway and Dublin and to avail of a treat, you’ll need to use Apple Pay on an eligible device (including iPhone SE, iPhone 6 & later models, Apple Watch, iPad Pro, iPad Air 2, iPad mini and later).

ONE CENT ice cream

This free ice-cream bonanza starts today Friday, July 28th and runs until Sunday 30th when the trucks will arrive at Croke Park, just in time for the GAA Football All Ireland Senior Championships Quarter Finals.

Head of Brand and Proposition at AIB, Brian Keating said:

“The introduction of Apple Pay is a part of AIB’s ongoing commitment to offering our customers new and convenient ways to pay. By bringing a fleet of cashless ice cream trucks around the country, we are giving our customers a fun and delicious opportunity to embrace digital payment solutions”.

Apple Pay is designed to make paying for goods easier for customers and considering there’s ice-cream involved, we’re sure this idea will be a huge success.
