Horror movie fans, rejoice.
Camp Crystal Lake – the sleepaway camp and home of the hockey-masked killer Jason Voorhies – is opening its doors.
It turns out that the popular 1980’s horror movie was filmed at what is now a camp for Boy Scouts in New Jersey, called Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco.
And while the camp isn’t normally opened to the public, that hasn’t stopped people from trying to visit.
So, eventually, staff began allowing the occasional tour for movie fans – usually on a Friday the 13th.
For their first tour of 2018, the camp have decided to do something a little bit different.
They started off by increasing the number of tours – one on April 13 and one on April 14 – and now they’re auctioning off a special overnight experience.
The VIP Experience includes a tour of the camp, as well as a dinner in the famous dining hall and a stay in the log cabins.
There will also be breakfast, as well as a once-in-a-lifetime experience with the tour’s special guest, Adrienne King, who played Alice Hardy – the first ‘final girl’ – in the original film.
The site adds:
“Please note that your authentic camp experience will include camping out on an army-style cot in a rustic log cabin together with other VIPs.”
But, if you don’t feel like staying overnight, there are some other options.
Tickets for the non-profit campground’s fundraiser are priced between $135 and $175, depending on the time of day you want to go to.
