Add us as a preferred source on Google »If you're expecting a baby girl in the coming months then there's no doubt you've been busy trying to find the perfect name.
But there are simply way too many options out there and the thought of narrowing our lists down to just one name feels impossible.
I've had a list on my phone for years and I'm not exactly planning on having more than two kids so a lot of these names are going to go to waste.
I personally love short and traditional names and one of my favourite choices is growing in popularity.
Shorter names are more popular than ever before, especially with some old-fashioned names going out of style.
Gone are the days when girls were given super long names because they were 'proper'.
Names like Catherine and Elizabeth are now being swapped with Betty and Katy, which are far cute options (I'm biased, I know).
However, there's one four-letter moniker that has always stood out for me and that's Ruby.
The bold and beautiful moniker has been on my baby name list for quite some time and it isn't going anywhere.
The charming moniker is of Middle English origin. It translates from the Old French name 'Rubi'.
It comes from the beautiful gemstone of the same name, but it also means 'precious stone'.
According to The Bump, the name is linked to wealth, health, passion, and success in love.
What do you think of this adorable moniker?
