Interesting info.

If you’re thinking about getting on the property ladder, then Longford is by far and away the cheapest spot in Ireland to buy a house.

Daft.ie has just released a report regarding house prices for the first quarter of 2016 and west of the country is the most inexpensive area to put down roots.

You’re looking at an asking price of €100,000 (or thereabouts) for a home in Longford with Leitrim, second on the inexpensive list at (€111,964).

Spotted on JOE.ie, Roscommon (€113,466), Sligo (€114,102) and Mayo (€127,664) also feature in the cheapest five areas to make a house purchase.

On the other side of the scale, prices in Dulin are excessive: the standard asking price for a house in North Co Dublin is €265,147, €268,269 in West County Dublin and wait for it, an eye-watering €517,774 in South County Dublin.

If you want to have a look at the report in full, you can check it out here.
