Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has commented on her and Mel B’s decision not to join in the standing ovation for Idina Menzel and Michael Bublé on last night’s X Factor results show.
Cheryl and Mel refused to join their fellow judges, Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh, in a standing ovation for the performance of Baby It’s Cold Outside, which appears on Idina’s Christmas album Holiday Wishes.
After receiving some criticism for the decision, Cheryl apparently told the Mirror: “Me and Mel were so engrossed in what was coming up, let’s face it, it was Lauren versus Andrea.
“We applauded them but sometimes it’s difficult with my dress. Sometimes you have to take beauty over disaster. Apart from that we were having a really emotional conversation.”
