This chic Airbnb in Cork is actually a 200-year-old lighthouse keeper’s cottage

Wow.

Looking for an Airbnb with a twist?

If you’re planning a trip down south and you’re on the hunt for accommodation with a difference, then this piece of history is where you need to lay your head.

A 200-year-old lighthouse keeper’s cottage in Youghal Co Cork is one which has manned Youghal’s lighthouse since the 1800s.

The cottage which looks out over the sea finished a two-year renovation last year and now not only appears super modern and chic but is available to rent on Airbnb with guests praising their stay since it went live last year.

And although it’s the lighthouse “keeper’s” cottage, fear not, you won’t have to do any sea duties as the lighthouse has been automated since 2007.

The house which sits on the cliff’s edge also features the most spectacular views making it the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of a busy city alongside a few friends (the cottage hosts 6 people – 3 bedrooms).

Three nights is the minimum stay at the cottage with one night costing €310 for the rent of the entire house.

You can request to book the home via the site here, however, do note that many nights including the full month of August 2019 have already been booked up.
