Chris O’Dowd is going to be an even bigger star now that he has landed himself a US sitcom on HBO.
The comic, who has starred in films including Bridesmaids and Friends With Kids, found out yesterday that the television network had commissioned a series of Family Tree.

Chris, who plays a jobless single man in the programme, will not only see his fame increase because of the show but also potentially his bank balance if it’s successful enough for a second series.
A source told the Irish Daily Mirror that if all goes to plan with the first series Chris could end up taking ‘around €100,000 for each episode… (and) more than a million euro for an entire season.’

Busy Chris is walking down the aisle with Dawn Porter later this month.
Family Tree will be filmed in the UK later this year but as yet, no date has been set for its small screen premiere.
