According to reports today, Coldplay’s 2008 hit ‘Viva La Vida’ will be the song of the London 2012 Paralympics closing ceremony.
The song will be performed by hundreds of singers at outdoor concerts across the UK to mark the end of this year’s Games.
Apparently each performer has been told to do their own take of the song at two in the afternoon during the ceremony.
Frontman Chris Martin is reported to have said: ‘It’s a great honour for us to be part of the celebrations for the Paralympic Games and it should be a great moment when the bandstands of Great Britain strike up in unison.’
Coldplay are the headliners for the closing ceremony of the Paralympic Games which start on Wednesday.
