Ireland’s aspiring creatives are being called upon to secure their place at Portfolio Lab 2013 and put their work “under the scope” with Ireland’s leading Creative Directors.
The inaugural Portfolio Lab will take place Wednesday May 29th and will offer students and graduates a unique opportunity to get their portfolio in front of top industry figures. With just 60 spaces available, the portfolio review and networking event welcomes graduates and final year students from all creative disciplines.
Attendees will also have an opportunity to make a lasting impression by working on a real-time brief for Portfolio Labahead of the event for the chance to win a two week summer placement at Ogilvy Dublin. The brief is to produce one execution to clearly communicate an idea on how to position Portfolio Lab as the top creative event to connect with the advertising industry. All work brought to Portfolio Lab will be displayed at a pop-up gallery for the duration of the evening. For a full outline of the brief, visit www.iapi.ie/portfoliolab
In the style of speed dating, attendees at Portfolio Lab will have fifteen minutes each with three top creative directors to get their portfolio critiqued. In between getting creative feedback on portfolio work, they will have the chance to socialise and mingle with the rising stars of the Irish industry and get advice on how to break into the industry. By the end of the evening students will be armed with the know-how to improve their portfolio and will have made a valuable start in getting interview ready as well as making contacts with influential and up and coming figures in the industry.
The event is being hosted by IAPI & ICAD in association with Cawley Nea/TBWA, Chemistry, Cybercom, DDFH&B, Irish International, Ogilvy Dublin, Publicis Dublin and The Irish Times.
According to Alexis Bouckaert of eighty:twenty, “Aspiring creatives can't afford to miss Portfolio Lab. The whole event is centered around giving students and graduates one-on-one time with Ireland’s top creative directors, to present their portfolio and get feedback. Attendees also have an opportunity to test their mettle and get noticed by working on a live brief. With only 60 places available, don't wait before booking a place at one of the top creative events of the year.”
