Earlier in the week we posted an amazing gallery of images showing that the ‘Mayo For Sam’ campaign had gone global.
Fans posted snaps from all over the world to Mayo GAA Banter Page, well now we have a super cute video to join them.
St. Pat’s Drumcondra final year students, Leona and Aisling shot this short clip while volunteering in Uganda over the summer.
Along with fellow student teachers from all over Ireland who participated in the Réalt Programme, the girls provided lessons and activities at a primary school in Bukinda, one of which was about flags and their meanings.
The youngsters then went on to draw flags and some decided on the Mayo colours. The video shows a classroom full of kids singing along to county anthem, ‘Green and Red of Mayo.’
The girls raised funds before heading off and Mayo county team sponsors Elverys kindly donated balls and pumps, enabling the girls to conduct a Gaelic tournament at the school.
