A great move.

Deep RiverRock have announced their first 100 percent recycled water bottle.

The range will be made from recycled PET bottles and will eliminate approximately 500 tonnes of virgin plastic from Ireland’s supply chain over the next three years.

The company are the country’s first major water brand to introduce a bottle that is fully recyclable as well as made from entirely recycled materials.

The new bottles will also include a new logo reading: ‘100 percent recycled bottle.’ This applies to the bottle itself and not the cap or label.

Deep RiverRock announced their new range of bottles today, alongside the Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment, Richard Bruton.

They said that they hope the move will encourage more people to recycle their PET bottles correctly leading to a more sustainable future.

“Deep RiverRock’s investment in recycled PET supports a circular economy, keeping resources in use for as long as possible,” reads a statement.

“Recycled PET bottles are also one of the lowest carbon-dense packaging types to produce within the beverage sector.”

During May, Her will be doing some more #ConsciousBits.

Over the month, we’ll be learning how to re-use more than we buy, examining the sheer amount of waste the planet produces, and considering the many, many benefits of sustainable fashion choices.

We’ll also be chatting to some people who have made sustainability a priority, while setting ourselves a few environmentally conscious challenges along the way.

Change is daunting and we’re not perfect, but we can always try to do our bit. Our conscious bit.
