If you're a dancer here in Ireland who's dreamed of being part of a big international production then this might be your chance to shine.
Disney Studios is looking for dancers in Ireland to be part of their upcoming production. The project is said to be a musical which will be filmed on our island later this year.
The call out says Disney is "looking for technically trained dancers for an upcoming musical feature film to be shot in Ireland. Seeking dancers to play characters ranging from 18 years to 60 years - all ethnicities, shapes and sizes are welcome".
The studio is looking for all styles of dancers and different levels of experience. The casting post says "there will be elements of ballet, waltz and jazz."
If you have tap dancing skills then this may stand to you for an audition. “Strong tap dance skills are a plus. Dancers will be hired locally from Ireland,” the details finish."
According to a few rumours circling around the movie they are filming is the sequel to the musical romance Enchanted starring Amy Adams and Patrick Dempsey but nothing has been officially announced. Rehearsals for the dancers will start in March and go on until May this year.
With everything going to plan the production is looking set for this summer but of course the pandemic may delay the dates a little, who knows.
Irish movie and theatre choreographer and set director Belinda Murphy is running the castings here in Ireland in March and they will be heading to Dublin and Cork and a few other cities.
