Love food? Have a phone? Love taking photos? This is the competition for you.
Love Irish Food are running a nifty "Selfie Chef" competition where they're encouraging consumers to showcase their cooking skills in the kitchen.
Open on the
Love Irish Food Facebook page until May 26th, consumers upload selfies with their homemade dishes made from Love Irish Food ingredients and produce.
Social media users can then vote for their favourite creations with the winner walking away with a €1000 cash prize. The runner-up will win an iPad Mini, with weekly prizes on offer for the duration of the campaign.
“This is a really fun competition and the main priority is to entertain Love Irish Food fans, but it is to also help entrants make informed choices about buying Irish manufactured food and drinks,” said Kieran Rumley, executive director of Love Irish Food.
“Our research shows that the Love Irish Food member brands account for 30,000 direct and indirect jobs in the food industry. The effect of these jobs is to create a gross wage bill of over €800m a year.”
Love Irish Food was set up in 2009, and represents 80 brands that aim to help consumers make informed choices about buying Irish products. Click onto their Facebook page
