According to reports Downton Abbey cutie Dan Stevens will not be returning for the fourth series of the costume drama.
Dan, who plays Matthew Crawley on the popular show, will appear in the Christmas special next month but will not be coming back for the next series.
A source revealed to there Sunday Express: “Dan Stevens isn’t returning to the series. He will probably do the first episode of the fourth series, but that will be it.”
Matthew Crawley will be missed by Lady Mary and the viewers.
However the fact that the programme is returning for a fourth series and a Christmas special is also being planned for next year will no doubt soften the blow of his departure.
This year’s festive special sees the Grantham family take a trip to Scotland, leaving most of the servants behind, and will no doubt be high up on the list of everyone’s holiday viewing.
We don't know about you but we can’t wait to see the drama unfold! Besides, it will be one of our last chances to see the dashing Matthew Crawley...

Downton Abbey will be back next year, at least for a series.
