It appears EastEnders star Shona McGarty is considering swapping her script for a microphone as it is revealed she is headed for the recording studio.
The actress, who plays Whitney Dean in the popular soap, proved she could sing at last year’s Children in Need and now she is taking her music to the next level with a studio session.
Shona performed A Change Is Gonna Come at last year's Children In Need.
She told The Sun newspaper: “I’m always writing and singing my own songs so I am going into the studio to record some of them.”
But the 21-year-old was quick to add that she isn’t planning on leaving Albert Square any time soon: “It isn’t anything official, they are just for my own personal use. I have no plans to leave EastEnders.”
The soap star has become a key figure on Albert Square.
It’s great that Shona who recently split from her boyfriend, former Dancing on Ice contestant Matt Lapinskas, has something to focus her energies on although we suspect she might have a few Taylor Swift-type tunes in the pipeline.
