Eggs Eggs And More Eggs – The Best Things About Easter

All of the fun.

Cathy Donohue

We are BIG fans of the Easter break. A couple of days to relax and chill out are much appreciated as are the vast amounts of chocolate.

There’s a lot of treats involved which is fantastic news for those of us with a sweet tooth!

Here’s a few of the reasons we love Easter celebrations.

ALL of the eggs

The excitement of Easter Eggs doesn’t wear off as we get older, in fact we would go as far to say it gets worse! There is SO much choice. White, milk or dark? Orange, mint or strawberry infused? Praline, hazelnut or macadamia flavour? Phew. It would be rude not to try them all (or as many as you can without getting violently sick).

Perfect timing

It’s April and we’re in need of a break. Whether you choose to jet off for a few days or stay home to chill out, the few days off do us the power of good. The Christmas holidays feel like a distant memory and summer is too far off to look forward to. When Tuesday rolls around, at least we can say we enjoyed our Easter break.

Lent is finally over

Not all of us stick to Lent (a tradition of abstaining from something you enjoy in the weeks before Easter), and we hold our hands up here. However, if you have managed to stay off chocolate/sweets/crisps/pizza/insert relevant food item here, you can wear a smug expression with pride. More willpower than us, and that’s for sure.

It’s like a mini Christmas!

Food everywhere, (from a slap-up Easter Sunday dinner to copious amounts of chocolate in every flavour under the sun) hanging with family and friends and taking a break from work. This sounds a lot like Christmas Day bants to us, (okay so there isn’t any presents but come on let’s not get too greedy here).

It’s officially bank holiday season.

Easter Monday marks the start of the summer bank holiday Monday season. Bring on the four day weeks, thank you very much. There’s one around the corner in May, another in June and of course the August bank holiday season. This is definitely a plus point for the months ahead! If you start planning now, you’re sure to have the best summer yet.

Happy

Shiny happy people

Easter falls during springtime, a happy time due to the welcome bursts of sunshine (even if they’re not quite as frequent as we might like), flowers blooming, spring summer fashion, festival planning, and summer holiday booking. There’s a lot to smile about when you think about it! We’re willing to bet there’s a lot more craic around than during Dry January.

All this chat about Easter has made us very hungry so we’re off to sample some eggs… of the chocolate variety of course!
