Have you ever stared at your phone and silently wished that you could just SMELL all those calls, texts and emails you’ve been getting? No... us neither but a Japanese technology firm has created an app and attachment for your smartphone that will bring an olfactory dimenson to your chats.
In a video on DigInfoTV, ChatPerf unveiled their latest creation – the Scentee device. When the device is attached to your phone you can use it to send certain smells to your friends. Yeah, like you, we can only think of one thing here.
However, according to ChatPerf, Scentee was created in order for phone users to experience atmospheric scents while they play games or watch films on their phones.

The Scentee attaches to the end of your phone
“Suppose you want to send a message to a friend via a social network, maybe because you know your friend is tired,” said Aki Yamaji, the PR manager for ChatPerf.
“You can use the Scentee to send a relaxing scent along with your message. You can also use it to add a scent to the notification sound whenever you get a new email,” he added.

To send a smell to a friend all you have to do is hit he 'puff' button
The Scentee device slots into the end of your phone and tiny tanks full of scents are fitted into it. ChatPerf plan to sell different scents that can be switched around on the Scentee device.
Once your phone is kitted out with the Scentee all you have to do is type in who you want to send it to and click the ‘Puff’ button on your phone’s screen. The recipient’s Scentee will the light up and a puff of perfume is released.
Are we the only ones who see a potential problem with this? Eh... what happens if you’re holding your phone near your face when someone sends you a ‘puff’? Hello blindness, we’ve been expecting you...
