As part of their Uplifting Summer campaign, 7Up Free has been asking people “What uplifts your summer?”
While the spell of hot weather was at the top of the nation’s list of discussion topics it was found that the GAA championships were talked about more than holidays abroad.
Also high up on the list of what makes a characteristically Irish summer were the famous farmer’s tan and the dreaded fashion faux pas.
Over half of those asked said that socks and sandals were the worst followed by woolly hats and the shorts-and-tank combo on men.
Despite being practical the classical bum bag didn’t get a break either having made it onto the list of summer style don’ts.
But that’s enough about the fails, over a quarter of people In Ireland cited a barbeque with friends as their favourite fair weather pastime. Rounders,
Tip The Can and Frisbee were the three most popular childhood games people call upon during the good weather.
Since Wednesday, 7Up Free have been asking people to submit what will uplift their summer. They are giving away prizes of all shapes & sizes, from ice-creams to tickets to European festivals - basically, whatever you wish to win can be won! Just let them know what would uplift your summer.
To be in with a chance to win people can enter via Twitter using the hashtag #upliftmysummer, Facebook (from July 29th) or the website. Terms and Conditions apply – visit www.7up.ie for full details.
