If you’re looking for a good day out this summer then look no further. The Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby Festival is back with a bang this year and we can’t wait to get stuck into three days of racing and fashion.

Here’s everything you need to know before you go.

When is it?

The 2017 Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby Festival takes place from Friday 30 June to Sunday 2 July.

Where is it?

The Curragh Racecourse, Co. Kildare.

What’s on?

Here’s the rundown of all the events over the weekend.

Friday, 30 June
The SportsJOE Derby takes place on Friday featuring the Hackett Apprentice Jockeys Derby. Friday is the party night of the festival with the Apres Racing Party featuring the Honky Tonk Angels. The Hackett judges will also be out and about looking for The Curragh’s Most Stylish Man. The First race is at 5.45pm

Saturday, 1 July is the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby and the highlight of the racing and style calendar.  This is the day to sport your A-game and make sure your style is spot on. The first race is at 2pm with the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby off at 5.20pm.

Sunday, 2 July is all about families with an exciting line up of entertainment for children. Style-wise Sunday is the day for more a more relaxed look that will still keep you chic trackside. The Group One Pretty Polly Stakes and Comer Group International Curragh Cup are the highlights on the track. The First race is at 1.45pm.

Horses, style and a chance to have a great day out? Sure why wouldn’t you want to go? We can’t wait to get our glad rags on and place a few bets.

Hackett will be on the look out at The Curragh Racecourse on SportsJOE Derby Day Friday for the sharpest dressed gentlemen of the day. With the opportunity to win a full suiting look from Hackett this is a great opportunity to show off your style credentials.

How do you get there?

By car:

From Dublin take Exit 9 off the M50 onto the N7 southbound. Take Exit 12 off the M7. When you arrive, you’ll find plenty of free car parking. Regular racegoers can opt for annual preferred car parking at a nominal rate.

By bus:

Dublin Coach provide a service to the races on all race days from Dublin Airport via the Red Cow Luas with stops in Naas and Newbridge and from Burgh Quay in Dublin City Centre via Kildare Village and from Limerick and Portlaoise.

By train:

Mainline trains from Heuston Station (Dublin), Waterford, Cork, Limerick and Galway to Kildare Town with complimentary Shuttle Bus to the racecourse.
