Facebook will soon be letting you know which of your friends fancy you

Sound.

…if you fancy them back, that is.

Reckon there’s someone you already know who’d make the perfect bae?

If you’ve completed Tinder and are fed up of the cretins who slide in your Insta DMs, you’ll be happy to hear that Facebook wants to be your wingman.

As part of its crusade to be involved in every aspect of our lives, the social network wants to set us up with someone who’s already in our circle with its latest update.

The Secret Crush feature (yeah, we love the name too) will let users express an interest in up to nine of their friends on the app.

If you’re featured on someone else’s Secret Crush list, you’ll be notified that “someone like you”.

When two people both have each other on their lists, they’ll each get a notification.

The feature could mean that you end up chatting to the dreamy lad you met on holidays last year or even reigniting things with the boyfriend you had when you were 13, who knows?

It’s part of a wider strategy by Facebook to move into the dating market.

Facebook Dating was first launched in Colombia last year and is now available in a number of countries, reports The Verge.

It’s being compared to rival app Hinge as rather than swiping on pictures, users answer questions and start conversations based on details on your profile.

“Dating has been a behavior that we’ve seen on Facebook for a really long time,” Facebook product manager Nathan Sharp said.

“We want to make it easier and more comfortable for people to engage in. We just thought that now was the right time.”
