Put away the razors and hair removal cream ladies, as this August women will be going au natural with Armpits4August to raise awareness of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome.
UK charity Armpits4August encourages women to grow their under arm hair for one month to show solidarity with those who suffer from PCOS, the hormonal condition which can cause infertility and the growth of coarse hair on the face, chest and stomach.

‘Pit Pride’ will become an annual event.
Returning for just it’s second year the charity invited ladies to forget their usual maintenance ritual and challenge the conventional ideals of what beauty is.
Participants grow underarm hair for the month of August and ask family and friends to sponsor them, just as men do in November to raise awareness to prostate cancer through Movember.

Julia Roberts caused serious controversy when she appeared on the red carpet with an underarm carpet...
The Armpits4August organisers hope to reach over £4000, last years sum total and are determind to ‘make it bigger and hairier than ever.’
If you’re not prepared to brave public pit hair the site welcomes you to show support by sponsoring someone, all proceeds going to Verity, the charity for women affected by PCOS.
