Gobble Gobble Gobble: Obama Saves Two Turkeys From Becoming A Delicious Thanksgiving Feast

When Americans took to the polling stations earlier this month to vote for Barack Obama, they knew the next four years would be full of tough decisions and change.

And what decision could be more difficult than choosing which Thanksgiving turkeys will live to see another day?

The annual White House tradition, which dates back to Abraham Lincoln’s time in office, took place in the Rose Garden yesterday.

Turkeys Cobbler and Gobbler were overwhelmed with relief when Mr. Obama revealed that they were the lucky ones this Thanksgiving and they would live to see Christmas.

“You know, they say that life is all about second chances. And this November, I could not agree more,” he said smiling.

“So in the spirit of the season, I have one more gift to give. And it goes to a pair of turkeys named Cobbler and Gobbler. The American people have spoken, and these birds are moving forward.”

The President was accompanied by his two daughters Sasha and Malia as the family celebrated the turkey's stroke of luck.

Speaking to one of the turkeys Obama said: "Congratulations Cobbler. You're going to have a great life.”
