The two dreaded words some people hate to hear. For a lot, it is their worst fear. Forget spiders, darkness and enclosed spaces.
We’re talking about “the dentist”.
It mustn’t be nice to know your career is feared by many and one innovative dentist wanted to make a change to people’s attitude to the chair.
Dhanni Gustiana wants to ease his patients’ surgery fears. He wants people to feel relaxed in the chair. His dream is for people to enjoy going to the dentist.
Solution? He has created a musical drill to help keep his patients’ minds off the intrusive instrument.
Dhanni has tested out his unique song-playing drill equipment at his own Indonesian dental surgery in Purwejo, Central Java.
He hopes the one-of-a-kind tool will make the dreaded trip to the dentist enjoyable, or at least slightly more bearable.

Some kids request their own tunes for the chair... "Smile, like you meeean itt...."
Dhanni set to work by modifying the conventional dentist’s drill to play music via an mp3 player to block out the spine-chilling buzzing sound the drill normally makes.
The drill has proved especially popular with his younger patients who even call in advance to request their own music to be played during their appointment.
“The children are not afraid of doctor, many of them are afraid of drill,” Dhanni explained.
“I modified this by putting a toy on the head of the drill and telling them that the toy will clean their teeth.”
Dhanni spent about six million rupiah (€460) modifying the instrument which comes complete with disco lights.
Now, where else would you rather be than sitting back in the chair, listening to some "choons"? Can you think of any you'd request...?!
