Could you imagine how awful it would be to spend twelve years of your life cooped up in a cage? This is exactly what happened to the dog featured in this heart-breaking YouTube clip.
Lizzy was found in a puppy mill back in March. Puppy mills are essentially dog farms, where dogs like Lizzy are forced to breed litters of puppies over and over again so dealers can make a profit.
No concern is given to the mother’s health during this process and in most cases, female dogs eventually die due to health complications associated with endless breeding.
The sad part about this story is that during her twelve years at the puppy mill, Lizzy’s paws never touched the ground. This video shows her reaction as she’s allowed to walk on grass for the very first time. And it’s heart-breaking but in a good way because this story has a good ending.
We’re pleased to report that Lizzy, the cutie that she is, was immediately adopted into a loving home when she was rescued from the mill and she’s now leading a happy, healthy and normal life.
