Here Comes The Bride… But Who Needs a Groom?!

The latest Japanese wedding craze comes with a twist.

Have you dreamed of your big day, picturing yourself in a gorgeous white gown, posing for pictures and generally loving life?

If a groom didn’t immediately feature in your imagination, the new wedding trend in Japan just might appeal to you.

A Japanese travel agency is now offering women a two-day wedding package, no other half required.

Cerca Travel, based in Kyoto, recently launched their “solo wedding trip” package.

The trip, which starts from €2,170 per “bride”, includes a dress consultation and your selection of a white gown or a traditional Japanese kimono on the first day. On day two, you have a hair and makeup session, as well as a photoshoot in the beautiful Japanese garden of Shugakuin Kirara Sanso.

If you’re missing the male presence, you can hire a Japanese groom for the pictures or a partner to accompany you to dinner on the first night.

Cerca Travel President Yukiko Inoue said she created the package “to encourage women to have positive feelings about themselves.”

There is no actual ceremony included in the trip. Because that would be weird.
