Here’s how you can stop someone snoring naturally

It’s worth a shot.

There is nothing worse than sleeping beside someone who snores every night. Or, worse still, someone who is snoring in another bedroom. Sometimes walls are just not thick enough and it manages to echo throughout the house.

While it’s not nice for the person who is trying to sleep, it’s equally tough for the snoring culprit who gets woken up by their disgruntled partner every time they snore.

So, if you sleep beside a person prone to snoring, The Daily Mail has highlighted some quick fixes that might make for a better night’s sleep.

One we probably are all aware of is when someone is sick or has a blocked nose. A hot drink before bed or a hot shower can help to clear the nasal passages before bedtime.

Lying on your back is one of the most common positions for encouraging snoring. The base of your tongue and your soft palate collapse to the back of your throat when you lie on your back. If you sleep on your side, this won’t happen and so the snoring will stop.

How tired you are can play a part in snoring, with muscles becoming more relaxed when someone is in a deep sleep. If someone is snoring extra loud, maybe they are just more tired than you know. Try not to go so hard on them in the morning.

Alcohol is another factor which makes snoring much worse. Even non-snorers can snore when they have drank too much. While it’s hard to bring in a no-alcohol policy, it’s something to bear in mind if there is a big session coming up.

Weight gain has been linked to snoring, because it squeezes the diameter of the throat. Losing the weight again can help this change.
