Here’s what the inside of a bowling ball looks like

It's certainly nothing like we thought of...

As Sir Francis Bacon once said, “knowledge is power”.

There’s plenty of interesting things that we’ve discovered over the last while – like the correct way to pronounce brands like Ralph Lauren, Sudocrem and Asos.

Humans are genetically designed to learn more and more as they grow older and it’s always frustrating to be corrected by your friend or partner on something.

One thing you can be more knowledgeable than your mate is the inside of a bowling ball all thanks to a kind Reddit user.

User elmielmosong uploaded two pictures displaying what the inside of a bowling ball looks like and it’s like nothing we could’ve imagined.

The inside of the hard shiny surface of the ball looks to contain a small weight (which makes sense considering how heavy those damned balls are) and according to TIMEthere’s a specific reason why the ball is so peculiarly designed.

The green weight block in the centre reportedly aids the ball, giving it the momentum it requires to fly down the lane.

The block in the centre is placed there to transfer energy from the ball to the pins at the right moment, giving you that strike that you’re wishing so badly for.

People on Twitter were sharing the mindblowing news left, right and centre.
