Get the board games out, it looks like we have a couple of rainy days ahead.

According to Met Eireann, today will be mild enough, with a few showers in the morning but clearer spells coming through from the West in the afternoon.

Highest temperatures will reach 8 to 10C, and it will be dry in many areas tonight, with some showers in north Ulster and some drizzle in the southwest.

However, more persistent rain will spread from the West during the night and will have reached most places by the morning.

From there on in, it’s pretty grim – Saturday is set to be dull with rain in all areas and highest temperatures ranging from 7 to 9C in the North and 10 to 12C further south.

As the evening progresses, blustery showers will die out and be replaced with clearer weather and frost.

Sunday is worse again, with more persistent rain causing a risk of spot flooding across the central belt of the country.

Highest temperatures will range five to 13 degrees Celsius, with moderate to fresh westerly breezes, and on Monday morning – you’ll be cracking out the de-icer again, as the week will start with frost and ice.

Tonight’s glass of wine has never been more called for.
