Three weeks after network TLC cancelled reality TV show Here Comes Honey Boo Boo due to allegations surrounding Mama June’s relationship with a convicted sex offender, the star of the show has opened up with more disturbing details.
June “Mama June” Shannon has now admitted to a relationship with another sex offender, who she claims fathered two of her children.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Shannon revealed that 18-year-old Jessica and 14-year-old Lauryn, aka Pumpkin, were fathered by Michael Anthony Ford. Ford, 37, is a convicted sex offender who served time after his crimes were outed on NBC show To Catch A Criminal in 2005.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Shannon said: “Jessica and Pumpkin have the same dad, but Jessica’s dad has had nothing to do with her over the years. So, why the hell would I open up that can of worms until today? I lied to my family and told them it was somebody else.”
Before this revelation, Lauryn believed her father was Mark McDaniel, 53, the man whom Mama June was pictured spending time with recently, leading to the show’s demise.
McDaniel reportedly molested Shannon’s daughter Anna, 20, when she was eight years old.
