Researchers looked at newly-wed couples in Dallas in the US who agreed to be rated on their attractiveness. A survey of the participants found that women with 'better-looking' spouses had a desire to diet or have a slimmer figure.
The research, highlighted in a study published in journal Body Image, found that men with a 'better-looking' partner, on the other hand, had little desire to diet.
