A new study shows that people who think their partner is better looking than them tend to up their game in terms of diet and exercise, reports Prima.
Researchers looked at newly-wed couples in Dallas in the US who agreed to be rated on their attractiveness. A survey of the participants found that women with 'better-looking' spouses had a desire to diet or have a slimmer figure.
The research, highlighted in a study published in journal Body Image, found that men with a 'better-looking' partner, on the other hand, had little desire to diet.
We've all joked about one person 'reaching' in a relationship, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder and surely someone's body type is pretty far down the list of things you'd look for in a lifelong partner.Explore more on these topics:
